Esther was described as "beautiful and lovely". Lovely in the original language was the word used for "good countenance" or charming. People met her and liked her. Even the king was DELIGHTED with her.
The Bible text indicates why she was so favored by others: she made them feel valued by taking their recommendations. She demonstrated respect by heeding their advice. She was no jaded, sarcastic know-it-all but a good listener with a welcoming demeanor and a genuinely open mind.
Someone said "Charm is the quality in others that makes us more satisfied with ourselves". Are people satisfied after they've been in your company?
